Our Grass Roots Racing series is all about inclusivity and good vibes—a friendly and accessible race series designed for everyone. Whether it’s your first time between the tape or you’re just looking for a laid-back day on the hill, this is the perfect place to start.
No scary features, no high-pressure vibes—just rolling tracks, supportive riders, and plenty of opportunities to meet people who love riding as much as you do. It’s racing, but really, it’s about having fun, building confidence, and sharing the experience with new and old friends alike.
If you’re looking to dip your toes into downhill racing, the Root 1 Series is the perfect entry point for 2025. Grow your skills, enjoy the thrill of competition, and when you’re ready, take things up a notch with our more technical Signature Races later in the year.
Feeling confident after the Root 1 Series? Step it up with our standalone Signature Races, featuring more advanced terrain and bigger challenges across the B1KE Network. These events are perfect for riders looking to test their skills and race on some of the best tracks we have to offer.
Each race highlights the technical features and thrilling lines that make our parks stand out, showcasing the kind of terrain that keeps riders coming back for more. Whether it’s mastering tight corners, hitting jumps, or navigating steep descents, these races are designed for confident riders ready to push their limits.

Race Day: What to expect
B1KE race days are where riders, spectators, and the mountain biking community come together for an unforgettable day on the hill. Whether you’re chasing podiums, soaking up the adrenaline, or cheering from the sidelines, it’s an experience packed with excitement, camaraderie, and plenty of action.
The Day Unfolds
Gates open at 7:30 am, giving riders time to check in, grab their number, and complete the all-important track walk. Sign-on is open from 8:00 to 9:30 am, with practice laps kicking off at 9:00 am sharp. Every rider gets to complete two practice runs before racing begins at 11:00 am, setting the stage for an exhilarating day.
A Spectator’s Paradise
Not racing? You’re still in for an incredible day! Bring your friends, family, and fans to soak up the atmosphere and get close to the action. Cheer on your favourites, wander the race village, and enjoy the buzz of competition from the best viewing spots on-site. Spectators are always welcome, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
A Hub of Activity
Off the track, the race village is alive with energy. Refuel with a top-notch burger from Mountain Burgers or grab a fresh coffee from Brew Box, while browsing gear and chatting with the experts from TF Tuned, Melon, TMC, Wheelies, and Wynch and Plummet. It’s the perfect place for spectators to relax and get involved while riders take to the course.
When the Clock Starts
With two timed runs, it’s all about bringing your best on the day. The courses are carefully designed to offer something for everyone, combining flow, challenge, and a little bit of grit. Whether you’re setting personal goals or competing for the fastest time, each run is a chance to push limits and soak up the race-day atmosphere.
Capturing Every Moment
Photographers are stationed across the course, capturing the spills, thrills, and everything in between. From riders tackling technical sections to the roaring support from the crowd, every moment is immortalised, ready to share and relive.
Safety First
Your safety is our priority, with experienced marshals and first-aid support on-site. Helmets are mandatory for all riders, and we recommend extra protective gear to keep everyone confident and covered. Riders are encouraged to look before they leap and ride within their limits—because race day is about enjoying the experience as much as the competition.
The Grand Finale
The day wraps up with prize-giving at 4:00 pm, where we celebrate not just the winners but the spirit of everyone who made the event memorable. Whether you’re riding or spectating, it’s a chance to soak in the day’s highlights and connect with the MTB community.
